All members of the LPFPD 5 work together to provide adequately trained emergency responders to the community. We respond to most 911 emergency calls within our district including but not limited to Hazardous Material spills/leaks, Medical Emergencies, Fire/Smoke Alarm systems and Motor Vehicle Accidents. We also provide the community with a Dive/Rescue/Recovery Team.
Our volunteers live within the district and many work 40 hours or more a week at their "paying" jobs and then answer calls with the LPFPD 5 in their "time-off". They are fathers, mothers, sons and daughters who give an appreciable amount of thier time to provide emergency response services to our community.
24-hours a day/ 7-days a week
Our Full-Time Paid Personnel are available at Station 1 from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. and 11 p.m.- 8 a.m. Monday - Friday.
Our Fire Fighter/Rescue Volunteers carry dispatch radios and gear with them to ensure that they are ready to respond on a moment's notice - even if they are not at a station. Many times this means in the middle of meals, grocery shopping and even sleeping. When a call is recieved through 911 dispatch requesting the services of LPFPD 5, equipment/truck needs are assessed and those volunteers able to respond either go immediately to the scene or meet at the appropriate station.
